War Dragons - Chelonoth

Wind passing through this dragon's coral-like growths creates a haunting melody.

The Island Nations believe that their great coral reefs were born from one of Chelonoth’s scales. The Dragon’s magical nature caused the reefs to expand further and further, until the beautiful coral had covered the entire region’s shallow sea floor. Chelonoth serves as the Great Reef’s sole guardian, ensuring that the coral’s beauty is left untouched by poachers, savage storms, and stray ships. Should the reef ever be damaged, Chelonoth can use its aquatic magic to heal the coral, where it grows back even stronger and more vibrant.

Design Intent and Strategy:

Chelonoth is a tanky Warrior who, for the first time, can bring a flying friend with them to battle! Chelonoth’s passive, Reef Familiar, automatically summons an AI-controlled Warrior Dragon at the beginning of combat. Reefy the Reef Familiar will attack randomly chosen towers and absorb a large percentage of incoming damage. The rest of Chelonoth’s abilities support Reefy, allowing Chelonoth to tackle a variety of different base layouts. Spell Flux can pierce through Storm Shields to take down problematic Mage Towers. Rampage enhances Chelonoth’s breath damage, which is particularly effective when Chelonoth and Reefy both attack the same tower. Instead of a normal resist, Chelonoth has Vapor Shield. Free to cast, Vapor Shield blocks a percentage of incoming damage and heals Chelonoth with each use. Keep in mind that Blue Mage Towers will remove the shield, so destroying them should be Chelonoth’s and Reefy’s top priority.
